KATMANDU, Nepal -- A plane carrying tourists to view Mount Everest crashed while attempting to land in Nepal on Sunday, killing all 19 people on board, including 13 foreigners, officials said.

Rewant Kuwar, an official at Katmandu's international airport rescue office, said 18 bodies were pulled out of the plane's wreckage, and another victim died after being rushed to a hospital.
The two Americans were identified as Andrew Wade and Natalie Neilan, while the Japanese citizen was Toshinori Uejima. Their hometowns and other details were not immediately known.
The Beechcraft 1900D plane ? manufactured by Raytheon Aircraft, now known as Hawker Beechcraft ? had taken the passengers to view Mount Everest and other peaks on a one-hour "mountain flight" and was returning to Katmandu.
The government ordered an investigation into the crash.

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won a contract from leisure travel company TUI Travel PLC to provide Trent 700 engines to power two Airbus A330 aircraft which will also be covered by TotalCare? long-term support services.
The aircraft will be operated by TUI?s subsidiary Corsairfly and the contract also includes TotalCare? services for two additional A330s already in service with the airline.
Jacqui Sutton, Rolls-Royce, Civil Aerospace Senior Vice President ? Customer Business, said: ?The Trent 700 is a clear market leader.It is the most efficient engine on the A330, a position maintained by our constant investment in new technology. That technology, with comprehensive TotalCare? support, will deliver significant benefits to Corsairfly.
Pascal de Izaguirre, Managing Director, Corsairfly said: ?The Trent 700 has already proven itself on our existing A330-200s and this order is a sign of our continued confidence in Rolls-Royce product and services.?
The Trent 700 is the only engine specifically designed for the Airbus A330 and is the most fuel efficient, cleanest and quietest engine for the aircraft. It incorporates technology from the later Trent 900 and Trent 1000 engines, which has improved its fuel efficiency by a further one per cent.
More than 1,300 Trent 700 engines are now in service or on firm order and in the last three years the engine has captured more than 75 per cent of orders.
The aircraft are due to be delivered in 2012.

TRIPOLI, Libya?? British Prime Minister David Cameron and French President Nicolas Sarkozy gave Libya's new rulers strong support during a landmark visit to Tripoli on Thursday, vowing to release billions of dollars more in frozen assets and to push ahead with NATO strikes against Moammar Gadhafi's last strongholds.
Cameron told the fugitive Libyan leader and his backers, "It is over. Give up."
The two were the first world leaders to travel to Tripoli since revolutionary forces, backed by NATO airstrikes, swept into the capital and forced Gadhafi into hiding. The visit aimed to give a significant boost to the National Transitional Council, the body of former rebels that is widely recognized as the new leadership but faces a major struggle in establishing its authority.
At a press conference alongside NTC chief Mustafa Abdul-Jalil and the NTC's prime minister Mahmoud Jibril, Cameron and Sarkozy both expressed their backing for the council. Cameron said he would push for the release to the NTC of billions of dollars in Libyan assets that had been frozen to punish Gadhafi's regime. To that end, he announced Britain would introduce a draft resolution to the U.N. Security Council on Friday authorizing the release of all Libyan assets.
Cameron also pledged the NATO mission would continue as Gadhafi loyalists are still battling revolutionary forces on three fronts in central and southern Libya. "There are still parts of Libya under Gadhafi's control, Gadhafi is still at large, and we must make sure this work is completed," he said.
He called on all the holdouts to stop fighting.
"The message I think to Gadhafi and all those holding arms on his behalf is, It is over. Give up. The mercenaries should go home," he said. "It is time for him to give himself up and time for Libyan people get the justice they deserve by seeing him face justice."
Britain and France led international support for the rebellion and their countries were major contributors to NATO airstrikes that helped turn the tide in favor of the opposition.
Sarkozy said Gadhafi and others who "committed crimes" will be brought to justice but urged Libyans to avoid "vengeance" and seek unity and reconciliation.
The NTC and an executive committee it created are largely made up of technocrats ? some of whom were once would-be reformers in Gadhafi's regime who grew disillusioned and left ? and representatives from town and cities around the country. It not only faces the task of winning control over the last Gadhafi strongholds, it also must rein in the numerous armed groups and factions under the former rebel umbrella.
The flow of more of the frozen funds from abroad could boost its hand.

A Cameron spokeswoman, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with policy, said a new United Nations Security Council resolution authorizing the release of all frozen Libyan assets has support of all five permanent members.
Britain has also won approval from the U.N. sanctions committee on Libya to release a further $950 million immediately to fund public sector salaries, she said. Britain will also offer funds for weapons decommissioning, mine clearance, medical assistance for those with grave combat injuries and specialist help in locating and secure chemical weapons.
NATO forces continued to go after the holdout loyalist forces. Airstrikes hit targets 24 targets on Wednesday, including several radar systems and surface-to-air missile systems near the three main strongholds of Gadhafi's supporters ? his hometown of Sirte, Bani Walid and Sabha ? as well as smaller holdouts Waddan and Zillah, the alliance said.
Cameron and Sarkozy were greeted at Tripoli's airport by NTC leaders. Security was tight in the coastal capital, with Apache helicopters buzzing over the Mediterranean Sea.
Several Libyans clapped and reached out to touch the British and French leaders as they walked toward a hospital, where they met with amputees and other patients who were injured in the fight against Gadhafi. Doctors, nurses and other staff also offered a round of applause and chanted Libyan freedom slogans.
France's finance minister said the visit was not about landing economic deals but about showing support for the former rebels who ousted Gadhafi.
Francois Baroin, speaking on France-Info radio, said the visit "is a strong gesture, it is a historic moment to go today to Libya." Asked whether there were economic arguments for the visit, Baroin said, "we are not at that stage."
France's focus is not yet on reconstruction contracts but on supporting the interim leadership and pursuing "the last pro-Gadhafi pockets," he said.
French news reports said Sarkozy was accompanied by dozens of French riot police, an unusual move that underlined the continued worries over security.

HONG KONG (AP) ? Reassuring words from European leaders aimed at calming markets roiled by the continent's sovereign debt fears helped boost Asian markets in early trading Thursday.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy pledged in an emergency teleconference on Wednesday night with that they would help Greece avoid a debt default. For his part, Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou affirmed his commitment to debt-reduction targets.
The news soothed markets that have been rattled over the past few days by fears that Greece was heading rapidly toward a chaotic default as well as the idea that it could potentially leave the euro and return to its own currency.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose 1.6 percent to 8,653.36 while South Korea's Kospi advanced 1.5 percent to 1,774.72. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.7 percent to 19,173.08 and Australia's ASX 200 rose 1.4 percent to 4,061.10.
Mainland China's Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.4 percent to 2,493.01. Benchmarks in Singapore, Taiwan and New Zealand also rose.
"Markets found some relief as the concern over the breakup of the eurozone eased following the Sarkozy, Merkel and Papandreou conference call," strategists at Credit Agricole CIB wrote in a research note.
The news also bolstered markets Wednesday in the U.S., where the Dow Jones industrial average rose 1.3 percent to close at 11,246.73. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 1.3 percent to 1,188.68. The Nasdaq composite rose 1.6 percent to 2,572.55.
In currencies, the dollar strengthened to 76.71 yen from 76.65 yen late in New York on Wednesday. The euro fell to $1.3727 from $1.3752.
Benchmark oil for October delivery was down 51 cents $88.40 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract lost $1.30 to finish Wednesday at $88.91 per barrel.
In London, Brent crude for October delivery was down 27 cents at $109.38 on the ICE Futures exchange.

Earlier this year I spent some time with my parents, helping out as my mother recovered from surgery. Their neighborhood pharmacy in Somers, NY is privately owned, the kind you might remember from your childhood, where the pharmacist actually knows your name. One day while stopping by to fill a prescription for my mother, the pharmacist and owner, Matt Golden, informed me it would be a few days before I could pick it up, as that particular medication needed to go through the referral process.
"Wait a minute," he said, as he reached over the counter. "Just so you don't go away empty-handed, here's something for your mother. Tell her I hope she feels better." It was a homemade CD that included a few choice selections from his music library.
Later that week when I returned, I told Matt how much the music had lifted my mother's spirits. As he handed me the prescription, there was another CD to bring home. Glancing at the pharmacy shelves, Matt explained, "This is what I do so I can support my passion." That passion is obviously music as anyone can hear upon entering his pharmacy. Rather than that irritatingly bland background music that makes you want to bolt and run your errands another day, Matt's customers are treated to thoughtfully assembled selections from his personal collection of music from the 30's, 40's and 50's. As customers walk through the aisles accompanied by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Tony Bennett, some have commented, "It's actually a pleasure to wait for a prescription."
Thus far, my parents have received seven CDs from Matt's private picks.
It Doesn't Have To Be Drastic
While sometimes big changes are needed to fulfill your life's passion, it's not always necessary to carve out an entirely new career path. You might choose to do the same thing you're doing now but in a new way or to make a subtle change that makes a huge difference.
